Normal 0 false false false /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Monday 23rd Feb - We didn�t set the alarm last night as we had no reason to be woken up at the crack of dawn and after all it is Clive�s birthday, he�s allowed a lie-in!  It wasn�t cold enough to need the central heating on first thing in the morning, so we just woke up when we were ready!  It was quite peaceful out in the countryside, apart from the murmur of a road somewhere over the other side of the canal.  We got up and had a leisurely breakfast and got ready to set off again.    Just before we left Clive got his telescope out and scanned the field opposite and was rewarded with the sight of a fox in the woods at the back of the field.  I quickly grabbed my camera, put the zoom lens on and snapped a few pics.  In actual fact we realised there were two foxes, not just one.  One was walking through the trees and the other one was curled up right at the edge of the trees watching us, watching it!  Anyway it was lovely to see these wild creatures in their natural environment and not crossing urban streets and raiding dustbins!   We cruised back down to Foxton as we had arranged for Sam at Foxton Boat Services to have a look at our Webasto central heating system.  We were a bit concerned as it has been switching itself off recently before we had chance to.  It hasn�t done that before.  However, when we arrived in Foxton Sam wasn�t here, he had been called away to service another boat somewhere up the canal!  So we moored up right outside the pub and I decided to make use of the laundry services again as we don�t know when we will come across another one!  So the beds were stripped, we both had showers as the water was piping hot from the run down the canal, then the towels went in the pile as well, in fact I washed absolutely everything I could to ensure we had drawers and cupboards full of clean clothes etc.  Course, we couldn�t pass up the opportunity of nipping into the pub for a drink whilst waiting for the laundry to finish, though I will point out that I only had a soft drink!   We had tea then settled down to watch a movie on the laptop.  As I have mentioned previously Vicki has downloaded loads of films and TV series for us and she brought lots more when they came at the weekend, which she transferred over onto our hard drive.  Unfortunately the last lot of films she had downloaded for us didn�t have particularly good sound and our the integrated speakers in the laptop just weren�t loud enough for us to hear the dialogue so there were several films we couldn�t watch.  However, Clive�s mum and dad came to the rescue!  They wanted to get Clive something for his birthday, so asked if there was anything he needed and the answer was speakers!  So Vicki liaised with Grandad and sorted out a lovely little pair of speakers which only need to be plugged into a usb socket, no external power source required.  She got them all set up for us whilst she was here and we tested them out on Quantum of Solace on Monday night and they worked a treat.  Its amazing just how much sound these tiny little speakers can produce, they are brilliant!  You can see from the matchbox just how dinky they are.   Tuesday 24th Feb � again we didn�t set the alarm last night and its still warm enough to not require the Web on � Clive had just brought me a cup of tea when there was a knock on the boat, Clive popped his head through the hatch to find Sam, all ready to check the Web.  So I left them to it and pottered about in the boat, enjoyed my tea and read the emails etc.  I was just toasting some crumpets for breakfast when I looked at the clock and realised it was noon!  Neither of us had looked at the clock when we got up so goodness knows what time it was � we obviously needed the sleep!   Sam checked the Web and declared that there was nothing wrong with it, the reason it has been turning itself off is because it is reaching the required temperature sooner than previously because it has warmed up so much!  We have been so used to sub-zero temperatures over the last few weeks that this �warm� weather has come as a shock!  However we understand from the long range weather forecasts that we are in for yet another cold spell next week!  Come on Spring � we�ve had enough of Winter now!   Anyway, after a bit of last minute shopping in the little canal shop we are off up the Leicester arm again to Debdale Wharf for another pump-out (well the loo has had a lot of use this last week with all our visitors!) then back down to Foxton, up the flight and off again.
