Sunday August 23rd – Godmanchester

Well the bread didn’t taste bad at all!  OK it was a bit weird and was hollow in places, but tasty nevertheless.  I am not discouraged and will try again soon.

You will note we are still in Godmanchester.  Well we really didn’t want to leave, it is so nice here and it was a lovely day, so we stayed put.  Shouldn’t have really, we have been here 48 hours already – oops!...

Thursday Aug 20th – St Neots

We reluctantly left our lovely mooring at Great Barford around 10.00ish and for once the wind was a great help to us.  We were moored facing upstream and needed to turn around to head downstream.  It was extremely windy!  So Clive untied the bowline but kept the stern line around the bollard, gave the bows a gentle push off from the bank and waited……….slowly but surely the wind turned the boat almost 180 de...

August 19th - Great Barford

First of all, I have only put one photograph in the blog tonight, the signal here is pretty poor and it took about 15 minutes to upload one photograph!  I will therefore put all the relevant photographs in the gallery tomorrow - signal permitting!

We didn’t rush this morning.  I had a bit of a lie in and was quite surprised when I woke up to find that Clive had actually towed Lady Arwen backwards up the mooring so that the waterpoint was close enough for...

Monday August 17th – Great Barford

We left our mooring at the Priory Centre in St Neotsaround 11.00am.  Once again it was abeautiful day.  We both made sure we slathered ourselves with suntan lotion today, we forgot yesterday and I for one ended up a bit crozzled!  We had a very enjoyable cruise and I took the helm for a while to get some practice in!  I think I am improving actually and I managed to negotiate some very tight bends, however I chick...

Thursday August 13th – Buckden Marina

We had a lovely evening with Vicki and Ben last night.  I made a lasagne and we finishedoff with a Summer Berry crumble (which I didn’t make!) and custard.  It was nice to cook for someone else besides just us for a change.

We didn’t do much during the day today – I baked another loaf of bread in the bread maker but this time it didn’t quite turn out the way it should, it tried ...

Buckden Marina

I am afraid we are still having problems putting photographs in the blog!  This is being sorted out but is taking time I'm afraid!  I can still put photos in the gallery so I will put the ones in that relate to this blog.  I do apologise for this hiccup and hope normal service will be resumed in the not too distant future - please bear with us!

Well Clive took the TR6 back up to Huddersfield as planned on Saturday, fortun...

Buckden Marina.

OK everybody we seem to be up and running again.  I have now managed to put photographs into the gallery at last, the problems with the website are hopefully now resolved!  There are some photographs of our holiday in Mallorca which are in the July album and there are also a few in the August album, mainly of Indy's birthday celebrations when we went to see Thomas the Tank Engine at the Nene Valley Railway - indulge me, she's my only grandchild!...

We're back!

Sorry for the delay but since our return from holiday we have had problems with the webserver, which has resulted in us not being able to upload anything to our website! Hopefully this will soon be resolved and we shouldn't have any more problems, we hope!  You will also notice that the blog page has changed, this is because our website provider has been upgrading the site - probably what is causing all the trouble, updates always do!  So at the m...
